ELTA MUSIC Solar 42N Maize Yellow – an analogue ambient and drone synthesizer designed for deep textural sound design, microtonal experimentation and evolving sonic landscapes. It features eight oscillator units: six drone voices for layered harmonic density and two v/octave VCOs with waveform morphing and sub-oscillators for tonal and melodic expression. Solar 42N Maize Yellow is a standalone sound-creation instrument built for immersive, exploratory performance.

Its architecture includes dual Polivoks-style analogue filters (12 dB) with distortion, five LFOs, two sample-and-hold generators and a 5-step sequencer, enabling constantly shifting modulation and organic motion. A stereo cartridge-based effects system adds character, ambience and unique textures. External audio input, contact-mic preamp and envelope follower expand the instrument into hybrid and experimental signal paths.

The “Maize Yellow” version shares the exact same specifications as all Solar 42N models, differing only in its vivid yellow finish. This bright, distinctive colour gives the instrument a visually striking presence on stage or in the studio, while retaining all sonic capabilities of the Solar 42N platform. Ideal for ambient artists, experimental musicians, sound designers and film composers.
