Should I start with a complete synth or build from individual modules?
Start with a semi-modular synth — see our Modular Synthesizers category. Building from scratch with individual Eurorack modules makes more sense once you know what you actually want to patch.
Is Eurorack the same thing as "modular"?
Eurorack is the most common modular format, but not the only one. On this site, our Eurorack Modules category covers that specific format's individual modules, cases and power.
How much does a first modular setup cost?
A semi-modular synth is the cheapest way in, often less than a mid-range keyboard synth. A full Eurorack system with a case, power and a handful of modules costs more — tell us your budget and we'll help you plan it.
