Solton is a German PA manufacturer from Pocking, Bavaria: active and passive speakers, subwoofers, power amplifiers and digital loudspeaker management for musicians, bands, rental companies, churches and theatres. The brand dates from 1972 and launched its own aa-craaft PA line in 1981. The range we carry is wide, from the 2.5 kg IP 5 CX to the SIERA system with a dual 15" sub.
It is the same company that built Solton keyboards in the 1980s and 1990s, including the MS 50 and MS 60. If you are hunting for used arrangers, that is another chapter of its history: the manufacturer's current range is loudspeakers, amplifiers and PA systems, and that is what we sell.
Who Solton is for
- Bars, restaurants and conference rooms: small speakers for fixed installs such as the IP 5 CX or IP 8 (the maker lists bars, restaurants and installation).
- Singers and bands in small and mid-size rooms: aart T active cabinets with DSP and a mic input, no separate amp needed.
- DJs and smaller bands: TWA 15 systems, a powered subwoofer and a satellite speaker in one set.
- Event crews and theatres: Karat line array elements and the SIERA system.
Solton is not for you if you want mixing monitors for a home studio. This is stage and installation gear; for the studio see our studio monitors.
Lines and series
- aart T: active, two-way, self-powered cabinets (T-10 A, T-12 A) with DSP and a limiter.
- HD and IP: passive two-way speakers for installation and mobile use; they need a separate amplifier.
- CT and TWA 15: the CT 5 N vertical array and TWA 15 subwoofer systems (Classic with the HD 101, Array with the CT 5 N).
- Karat and SIERA: line source systems for larger rooms and touring.
- Accessories: TU frames, K&M adapters, wheels, covers and transport cases.

| aart T-10 A | active, two-way, 10" | 300 W | 123 dB | 90° × 60° | 14.8 kg |
| aart T-12 A | active, two-way, 12" | 500 W | 125 dB | 90° × 60° | 16 kg |

The maker quotes max SPL as continuous or peak depending on the model: peak for the IP 5 CX, continuous for the aart T and HD. Power in passive speakers is handling, in active ones the cabinet's amplifier rating.
What to choose
- Background music in a bar or restaurant, fixed install: the IP 5 CX (2.5 kg, 100° coaxial) or the IP 8. Both are passive and need an amplifier.
- Vocals and guitar in a small room, no mixer: the aart T-10 A. Two combo inputs, one with a mic preamp, 4 DSP presets, 123 dB continuous.
- A band in a larger room that needs to play louder: the aart T-12 A, 500 W and 125 dB continuous at 16 kg.
- A DJ or small band that needs deep low end in one set: the TWA 15 Classic. The 35 to 200 Hz sub also powers the HD 101 satellite and has Bluetooth.
- Church, theatre or conference, slim vertical speaker: the TWA 15 Array with the CT 5 N (150 mm wide, 8 kg, 120° × 20°).
- Touring and mid-size festivals: the Karat K 4 A; the maker lists mid-size festivals, theatres and clubs, and recommends the SUB K 15 A for low end.

Brand history
Solton was founded in 1972 by Josef Sperl in Pocking, first making tube guitar and bass amplifiers and speaker cabinets. In 1979 the company entered the electronic organ business, and in 1981 it launched its aa-craaft PA brand at the Frankfurt Music Fair and began working with Italy's Ketron on keyboard technology. In 1983 it started building pianos under the Klug & Sperl name in Kronach, and in 1987 it began a cooperation with Petrof. The MS 50 and MS 60 keyboards of 1994 became its best sellers. Since 2006 Sebastian Sperl has been managing director, working with his father.
