RØDECaster Video has received its biggest update yet – firmware v1.2.02 is now available! The new software brings full support for NDI®, PTZ camera control, advanced keying tools, and a range of interface improvements.
NDI Support – a breakthrough in video workflows
The new version of RØDECaster Video enables low-latency video transmission over Ethernet, offering up to four NDI inputs and one output. This opens up new possibilities for streamers and content creators, who can now seamlessly integrate cameras, smartphones, and other NDI-compatible devices into one network.
Integration with RØDE Capture
The RØDE Capture app now supports NDI and introduces Dual Cam mode, allowing simultaneous use of the iPhone’s front and rear cameras. Perfect for vlogs, interviews, and live streaming.
PTZ Camera Control
The update adds full PTZ control – pan, tilt, zoom, focus, exposure, and white balance can now be adjusted directly from RØDECaster Video. This makes switching shots faster and more convenient during live productions.
New keying and overlay options
The new Luma Key feature allows black backgrounds to be removed without a green screen, while Key Mask and Layer Stretch give users full control over layers. Video inputs can also now be assigned as overlays, enabling picture-in-picture effects and external graphics in RØDECaster Video.
Automatic camera switching
With integration to RØDECaster Pro II and Duo, cameras can now automatically switch depending on the active audio channel. A powerful feature for video podcasts, panel discussions, and live events – all managed via RØDECaster Video.
Improved interface and enhancements
The firmware update for RØDECaster Video also introduces rounded corners for all layers, visible audio meters even on muted channels, better ISO recording sync, new mix options, and refined USB controls.
