Telefunken Elektroakustik ELA M 251E

Telefunken Elektroakustik ELA M 251E is a large-diaphragm tube condenser microphone that, according to the manufacturer, is an accurate recreation of one of the most legendary microphones in recording history. Vocals and acoustic instruments with a tube character

According to Telefunken the ELA M 251E has a smooth yet present and open sound, with an extended and focused low end, a detailed mid-range and a silky top end. It is a microphone for vocals and acoustic instruments, where three patterns let you match the pickup to the source and the room. The manufacturer states that every microphone is true to the original in every detail, with parts interchangeable with the 50+ year old originals.

A complete studio set

Sensitivity is 17 mV/Pa (+/- 1 dB), distortion is below 0.2% at 1 kHz and 1 Pa, the S/N ratio is 85 dBA, the amplifier self noise is 9 dBA, and the maximum SPL for 1% THD is 130 dB. The package includes a tube mic cable, a power supply, a shock mount, a wooden box and a flight case, so you have everything you need to set the microphone up in the control room.
