Strandberg Boden Standard N2.8 Metal POWR:D Black Metallic is an eight-string headless guitar built around F#BEADGBE and dense high-gain writing. The basswood body carries the N2 shape with a curved top that supports the picking forearm along the natural arc of the strings. No headstock and a 43.5 mm body put it at 2.7 kg, so an instrument reaching a 28-inch scale weighs less than most six-string solidbodies.
A low F# that survives the mix
The fanned fret layout runs 26.5 inches on the first string to 28 inches on the eighth, with the neutral fret at position seven. The lowest strings sit at higher tension, so F# and B hold intonation and keep their attack instead of flapping under a hard pick stroke. The factory D'Addario NYXL 9-84 set uses tapered cores on B and F#, which cleans up how those strings couple to the Arc bridge and its full-contact footprint. String spacing of 73.5 mm at the bridge leaves room to palm-mute one string at a time in a riff.
Two pickup voices instead of two guitars
The active .strandberg* POWR:D by Fishman pickups carry switchable voicings. Precision Voice runs higher output with lifted upper mids for a tight, compact attack under saturated rhythm parts. Dynamic Voice works at medium output with a flatter response that slightly favours lows and highs, opening the guitar up for clean and crunch tones. Switching happens on the push-pull tone control, while the five-way selector adds single-coil combinations. One instrument covers clean arpeggios and F# rhythm work in the same session.
