Strandberg Boden Standard N2.7 Metal POWR:D Black Metallic is the seven-string headless model on the N2 platform, set up from the factory in BEADGBE. The basswood body carries a curved top that sits under the picking forearm, and at 2.50 kg it stays in the weight class of an ordinary six-string. The roasted maple neck is reinforced with titanium rods and walnut strips.

A seventh string that holds pitch and definition

Scale length fans from 25.5 inches on the first string to 26.25 inches on the seventh, with the neutral fret at position ten, right where the hand spends most of its time in lead work. The longer bass side lets a low B run at higher tension, so it keeps intonation high up the neck instead of trading attack for an undefined rumble. The factory D'Addario NYXL 9.5-64 set uses a tapered core on the low B, giving it a firmer seat at the nut and on the Arc bridge. Meanwhile the treble side stays at 25.5 inches, so bends and vibrato in the upper register remain light under the fingers.

Seven-string ergonomics on a wide neck

A 49 mm nut and 63 mm string spacing at the bridge leave room to mute individual strings cleanly, but the EndurNeck profile is what decides comfort over a long set. Its trapezoidal cross-section supports the thumb in a neutral position rather than forcing the clamped grip that tires the forearm on wide seven-string necks. The active POWR:D by Fishman pickups switch between Precision and Dynamic voices from the push-pull tone control, and the five-way selector adds single-coil combinations.
