Strandberg Boden Bass Standard 4 Blue Aura Metallic is a headless four-string bass weighing around 2.7 kg, with a 33"–34.5" multi-scale layout, Fishman Fluence Bass Soapbar pickups and an active two-band Fishman preamp. A lightweight bass for long gigs and sessions

A traditional bass with a headstock and tuners pulls the neck down, and after two hours on your feet you feel it in your shoulder and back. On the Boden Bass Standard 4 tuning happens at the EGS Rev2 bridge, and without a headstock the centre of gravity moves closer to your body, so the instrument hangs level on the strap. The EndurNeck profile changes shape along the neck and guides the hand into a natural position, which takes strain off the wrist.

The 33"–34.5" multi-scale layout gives the E string a longer scale, more tension and a clearer attack in the low register, while the G string at a shorter 33" stays soft and comfortable for fast runs. The factory D'Addario NYXL 45–100 super long scale set is matched to this geometry.

One bass, many tones

No need to bring two basses to one gig. Here two Fishman Fluence Bass 4 pickups in an H-H layout work with an active Fishman preamp: a balance control blends the pickups, a stacked bass and treble knob shapes the tone, a 3-way voice selector changes the character of the sound, and a push/pull on the master volume splits the coils. The same bass covers a deep low end for rock and an articulate tone for slap.

The Blue Aura Metallic finish is a light, cool metallic colour in a satin sheen that contrasts sharply with the black anodized hardware and the warm tone of roasted maple. Under stage lighting it shifts shade with the light, and the satin surface hides fingerprints far better than high gloss.
