Stager Microphone Stereo SR-2N is a ribbon microphone in a permanently fixed stereo configuration, capturing Blumlein or Mid-Side recording from a single point instead of positioning two separate microphones against each other. Inside it runs the same ribbons, magnets and transformer as the standard SR-2N.
Stereo from one point, no geometry to babysit
Crossed figure-8 ribbons in a single housing capture the full stereo image of a piano, a drum kit, a string section or a vocal group at once, with no angles or spacing to measure between two separate mics. It's built for situations where a fast, repeatable setup matters more than fine-tuning a spaced pair.
