The 011 FET is a hand-machined small-diaphragm condenser microphone built around a custom 19mm gold-sputtered capsule and a transformerless FET circuit. Its compact, lightweight body and fast transient response make it a natural fit anywhere a large-diaphragm mic pushes too hard on the source's character - acoustic guitar, piano, string sections, or drum overheads.

Transient detail without losing warmth

Large diaphragms carry more moving mass, which slows their reaction to fast attacks - a plucked string, a struck cymbal, a bowed articulation. The 011 FET's small, light diaphragm tracks those changes without smearing the signal, and the transformerless circuit holds a controlled low end and a smooth midrange, so the added detail doesn't turn sterile or glassy. The result is a mic that catches fingerstyle nuance on acoustic guitar without reaching for a second, articulation-focused mic.

One body, several polar patterns

A fixed-cardioid mic limits technique choice - stereo XY or ORTF, or a session calling for omni or hypercardioid pickup, means switching to a different model. The 011 FET's swappable capsules solve that without buying a second microphone: the same body and electronics run cardioid, hypercardioid, or omnidirectional, so one unit covers more recording scenarios, from a single spot mic to a Blumlein pair with two units.
