The Sontronics SIGMA 2 is a stunning phantom-powered ribbon microphone that seamlessly blends vintage aesthetic charm with state-of-the-art British audio engineering. Designed and painstakingly hand-built in the UK, this microphone is renowned for its extremely high sensitivity and incredibly low self-noise. Housed within its precision-cut metal chassis are custom-designed circuits and proprietary UK-made transformers, delivering a robust output signal that doesn't demand extreme gain from your preamp. One of the most significant upgrades in the Sontronics SIGMA 2 is the integration of RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) filters into its electronic design. This unique feature ensures that the microphone's signal remains absolutely free of unwanted interference and hum, making it a uniquely reliable tool not just in the recording studio, but also in demanding live performance environments.

Operating with a true figure-of-eight polar pattern, the SIGMA 2 captures pristine sound from both the front and rear of the element, offering a highly natural room resonance while actively rejecting off-axis noise from the sides. Utilizing standard 48V phantom power, it operates flawlessly with modern audio interfaces and preamps without the need for external inline lifters. The microphone comes ready for action, supplied with a bespoke custom shockmount and a rugged, foam-lined ABS flightcase for optimal protection during transport and storage.
