sE Electronics V8 MC2 Black is a dynamic wireless capsule for Sennheiser handheld transmitters, built around the new DMCV8 vocal capsule with a tight supercardioid pattern. Instead of buying a whole new microphone you swap the transmitter head and get the sound of the well-loved sE V7, evolved, in a matte black finish.

Feedback and bleed on a loud stage

On a small stage with floor wedges and a drummer behind you, a vocalist fights for every decibel of gain before feedback. The highly focused supercardioid pattern of the DMCV8 keeps the voice on axis and rejects sources at the sides more firmly than wider patterns, so it is easier to push vocals up without the squeal. A 25 Hz to 21 kHz range and 2.2 mV/Pa (-53 dBV) sensitivity give an open, detailed sound that sE says feels finished before EQ. The maker recommends the capsule for vocals, speech, broadcasting and podcasting, so the same transmitter head covers a gig, a presentation and a live show.

Built for hands, touring and handling noise

A patented integrated shock mount reduces the handling noise and vibration that a handheld transmitter normally passes straight into the mix. The all-metal housing and beveled spring-steel grille are made for touring, and the bevel keeps the microphone from rolling away when you set it down. Gold-plated contacts and an internal windscreen finish the list of things you do not have to think about mid-show.
