Roland TR-1000 Rhythm Creator is a drum machine that combines an analog engine recreating TR-808 and TR-909 circuits with ACB modelling, FM synthesis, PCM samples and a stereo sampler. Four layer tracks and six single tracks sit under a TR-REC sequencer with song mode, motion recording and step probability. The unit is built on an aluminium panel and a steel chassis, with no fan.

808 and 909 from real circuits, not samples

The analog engine offers 16 sounds faithfully recreated from the original TR-808 and TR-909 circuits, with new parameters and a wider dynamic range. Next to it runs the ACB platform with 21 circuit-bent 8X and 9X models, FM percussion, virtual analog synthesis and a PCM library. Each track has a sound generator, compressor, filter with four-band EQ and an amp section, and four tracks can stack two independent generators.

A sequencer that swings and evolves

Program step by step in classic TR-REC, record in real time or step off the quantize grid, with shuffle set per track. Cycle conditions, per-step probability and different play directions make a pattern change on every pass. The Morph slider and snapshots (up to 16 per track) change the sound and the mix with one move.
