RØDE NT2-A – a highly versatile multi-pattern large-diaphragm studio condenser microphone featuring a dual 1-inch gold-sputtered HF1 capsule with three selectable polar patterns (cardioid, omnidirectional, figure-8), ultra-low self-noise of 7 dBA, and exceptional maximum SPL handling up to 157 dB with pad engaged. Equipped with three-position pad (0dB, -5dB, -10dB), three-position high-pass filter (flat, 40Hz, 80Hz), and transformerless surface-mount circuitry. Includes SM6 shockmount with integrated pop filter, premium 6m XLR cable, dust cover, and exclusive training DVD.

The NT2-A is designed to offer pristine audio quality and flexibility in equal measure, making it ideal for all sorts of voice and instrument sources at home or in the studio. The heart of the microphone is the Australian-designed and manufactured TYPE HF1 dual-diaphragm capsule featuring 25mm edge-terminated design with gold-sputtered 5-micron membranes. The frequency and transient response has been voiced to complement today's modern recording techniques while evoking the silky smooth character of legendary microphones from the 1950s and 1960s.

Advanced transformerless JFET surface-mount circuitry delivers an ultra-low noise output of just 7 dBA while maintaining maximum signal gain, resulting in an impressive 87 dB signal-to-noise ratio and incredible 140 dB dynamic range. The microphone achieves a spectacular 147 dB maximum SPL without pads, extending to 157 dB with the 10 dB pad engaged – providing exceptional headroom for the loudest sources. Internal capsule shock mounting minimizes handling noise and vibrations. Three control switches on the microphone body provide complete versatility: polar pattern selection between cardioid, omnidirectional, and figure-8; high-pass filter with flat, 40Hz, or 80Hz settings to eliminate low-frequency rumble; and pad settings at 0dB, -5dB, or -10dB for recording high-SPL sources. The circuit has been engineered to eliminate switch noise, with pattern, pad, and filter changes causing brief output level drops but no pops or transients. Heat-treated steel mesh head protects the capsule while the solid cast metal body features machined, polished, and nickel-plated finish for professional durability. Compatible with standard 24V or 48V phantom power. Designed and manufactured in RØDE's Sydney, Australia facilities with 10-year extended warranty available upon registration.
