RME MADIface USB – compact USB 2.0 interface with dual MADI I/O (optical SC + coaxial BNC), supporting full 64×64 channels @ 44.1/48 kHz via USB, Seamless Redundancy mode, TotalMix FX mixer/routing, and stand-alone operation as a format converter and active repeater. The BNC input also accepts Word Clock and AES (AES3/AES11/AES3id/SPDIF), while power is drawn directly from the USB bus.

MADIface USB offers multiple operating modes: 64 Channel Mix, Redundancy, 128 Channel Mix (routing 128 outputs in TotalMix, still 64 channels record/playback), and direct mode without mixing. AutoSelect switches inputs in real time if signal is lost, while SteadyClock ensures stable synchronization (source: MADI, AES or Word Clock). In stand-alone mode, the unit converts signals bidirectionally between optical and coaxial MADI and functions as a reclocking repeater.

The interface is compatible with TotalMix FX (full routing/submixing without DSP effects), supports MIDI over MADI, and works with the ARC USB remote. The DIGICheck toolset is included for professional metering and analysis.
