Polyend Synth is a desktop polyphonic synthesizer that runs three independent sound engines at once, each with its own sequencer or arpeggiator and its own effect. Nine engines are on offer: virtual analog, phase distortion, physical modelling, granular, wavetable and FM.
Three instruments instead of three boxes
Layering usually means two or three units, a nest of cables and a separate sequencer for each. Here a bass from the analog engine, a pad from the granular one and a percussive line from physical modelling play together from a single machine, and the whole setup, including parameters, effects, macros and sequences, is stored as a Scene you recall in one move. On stage that is the difference between changing a preset and rebuilding half the table.
Playing without guesswork
Smart Grid keeps the scale, so a chord takes one pad and a fast key change does not put you out of tune. Polyphonic aftertouch reads pressure on each pad separately and drives up to five values in every engine. Combo Knobs are macros that move one, two or all three synths at once, and the 3x3 knob matrix with dedicated parameter buttons builds patches without menu diving. Every knob turn is drawn on the screen, so you see the LFO shape, the filter and the envelope instead of inferring them by ear.
