Neumann U87 Ai Studio Set Nickel — the industry standard large-diaphragm condenser microphone for professional vocal and speech recording. At its heart lies the K870 dual-diaphragm capsule — the same used in the iconic U 67, TLM 103, and USM 69 i. The microphone offers three selectable polar patterns (omnidirectional, cardioid, and figure-8), switchable directly on the head. Its FET circuitry with transformer-balanced output ensures pristine sound with high headroom and classic analog character, highlighted by the recognizable purple Neumann badge. A -10 dB pad switch allows handling of sound pressure levels up to 127 dB SPL, while a low-cut filter compensates for proximity effect and reduces low-frequency rumble.
