Neumann KMR 81 i mt is the short version of Neumann’s classic shotgun microphone — a compact and precise directional microphone designed for film, TV, and ENG applications, where the microphone must remain invisible while capturing clear and natural sound. It offers high directivity, low coloration, and excellent side and rear rejection.

The KMR 81 i mt uses a pressure-gradient condenser capsule combined with a short interference tube to maintain an accurate frequency response across the pickup angle. This ensures that moving sources, such as actors on stage or in film scenes, retain a consistent tonal balance. Its compact design makes it ideal for location recording, field reporting, and news gathering systems, where space and mobility are crucial.

The microphone includes switchable low-cut and pre-attenuation filters, allowing it to adapt to various environments and sound pressure levels.
