Nektar WIDIFLEX

Nektar WIDIFLEX is a pair of 5-pin MIDI DIN plugs that add wireless MIDI to virtually any device with a standard MIDI socket. Transmission runs over Bluetooth BLE MIDI, a standard supported natively by macOS, iOS, Windows and Android.

Old MIDI gear starts working wirelessly

The plugs go into the instrument's MIDI IN and OUT sockets and from that moment gear from twenty years ago talks wirelessly to a laptop or a tablet. Nothing has to be modified and no drivers hunted down — this is a hardware solution, on the cable side.

Wireless MIDI does not have to mean latency

The most common worry about MIDI over Bluetooth is latency. BLE MIDI was designed for musical messages rather than an audio stream, so delay is low and stable. In practice, playing parts and driving parameters, you do not feel a difference — and the cable that always tangled under the desk is gone.
