Nektar Panorama P1

Nektar Panorama P1 is an advanced controller without a keyboard that combines mixer control, instrument and effect plug-in control and transport in one unit. The panel carries 16 encoders, nine 45 mm faders and one 100 mm motorised ALPS fader.

A motorised fader shows what is actually in the project

An ordinary fader stays where you left it after you switch tracks, so its position lies — until you move it you do not know the channel's level. A motorised fader sets itself to the value from the DAW. Working across many channels, that is the difference between control and guesswork.

The whole control section, none of the desk given to keys

The P1 is the same panel as the P4 and P6 without the keyboard: if you already own an instrument you play, you do not pay twice for keys or give them half the desk. What remains is the control section that runs the mixer, the plug-ins and transport. A 3.5-inch colour TFT display in the centre of the panel shows parameter names and values, so you do not have to move your eyes to the computer screen. In total you get direct access to as many as 93 parameters at once.
