Nektar Impact GXP61 is a controller keyboard for players rather than mouse programmers. 61 semi-weighted keys with channel aftertouch, a real-time repeat engine and plug-in patch management through Nektarine.

Aftertouch on a semi-weighted keybed is rare

Most controllers in this class stop at velocity. Channel aftertouch lets you shape a note after the key is down: open a filter, add vibrato or lift a pad layer without reaching for the mod wheel. On a semi-weighted keybed it plays naturally, because your finger stays in the key anyway.

Nektarine and the repeat engine: sounds at hand

The repeat engine generates repeats in real time — useful on hi-hats, arpeggios and building tension live, without entering notes in an editor. Nektarine organises patches from plug-ins by different makers in one browser, so you pick sounds from the keyboard instead of clicking through windows. You can connect up to three pedals, including an expression pedal on its own jack.
