Morphor VCF – Multimode — an analogue multimode filter in an 8HP Eurorack format, built around two independent cores: a lowpass and a highpass. Each section has its own cutoff knob sweeping the full audible range, a bipolar CV input, and a separate resonance control, while a slope switch sets the rolloff at 6, 12 or 24 dB per octave independently for each filter. The BP/HP Mix control blends the bandpass output with the highpass, giving a smooth transition between bandpass character and clean highpass. Pushing resonance high enough drives both filters into self-oscillation, turning the module into an extra sine-tone source.
Two independent filter cores instead of one compromise
A typical multimode filter switches a single core between LP, HP and BP modes, so only one character is available at a time. VCF Multimode runs two separate cores - LP and HP - simultaneously, each with its own cutoff, resonance, and slope selection. That makes it possible to run a resonant lowpass sweep on one signal while shaping the top end of the same or a different source with the second section, with no mode-switching mid-performance.
Self-oscillation as a free oscillator, plus smooth BP/HP mixing
Driving both sections' resonance to maximum pushes the filter into self-oscillation, yielding clean sine tones without adding an oscillator to the patch - useful for bell-like, metallic tones or an extra modulation voice. The BP/HP Mix control lets you glide smoothly between a strong bandpass character and clean highpass, so a single knob replaces a dedicated bandpass filter module when designing narrower, resonant tones.
