The ECHON 6 replaces the classic oscillator-and-filter architecture with a resonator built from bucket-brigade delay lines, keeping a fully analogue signal path across all six voices. Each voice has its own exciter blending analogue VCO waveforms, an external input, and a noise generator, feeding a resonator built around a 1024-stage BBD line with low-pass filtering on both the input (12 dB/oct) and the feedback loop (6 dB/oct). The instrument offers six independent voice outputs, a built-in headphone amplifier, and a rugged aluminum enclosure ready for tabletop, 19" rack, or VESA mounting.
Resonance instead of filtering as the source of character
Classic analogue synths rely on a subtractive filter for tone shaping, which tends to give away its electronic origin when trying to recreate naturally acoustic textures — plucked strings, wind instruments, percussive hits. The ECHON 6 takes a different route: the exciter's output feeds an analogue resonator with adjustable feedback, polarity selection, and dry/wet blending, producing a physically self-sustaining resonance rather than static filtering. The result is a range running from sharp, percussive plucks to dense, evolving harmonic clouds, without reaching for external effects.
A 9×32 modulation matrix instead of limited routing
Many compact polyphonic synths limit modulation to a handful of fixed paths, which becomes a ceiling fast once sound design gets more ambitious. The ECHON 6 offers a matrix of 9 sources across 32 modulation destinations, covering the envelope, four LFOs with a random generator per voice, polyphonic aftertouch, modwheel, velocity, and key tracking. Modulation depth is assigned by holding a source key and adjusting the target parameter, and dedicated buttons let you mute, invert, or max out modulation instantly — without menu diving, since the instrument has no display at all.
