is the little brother of one of the first electronic instruments, the Theremin. Sounds are extracted from the instrument via intuitive gesture control and supported by a built-in tuner and pitch correction system that resolves existing or self-programmed scales in a variety of intensities.

Operation and Connections of the Theremini
The built-in

LCD display provides instant visual feedback on the notes being played, so you can memorise reference notes and their corresponding hand position. You can choose from 32 preset sounds and assign each sound its own scale with the option to change the key note. The Theremini has a headphone socket as well as 2 mono jack outputs. A speaker is built into the Theremini, so you can listen to the Theremini without additional amplification. MIDI data can be exchanged via a mini USB port.

Hitting the right note on the Moog Theremini

At the highest level of pitch quantisation, only the programmed notes of the corresponding scale are playable. The lower the pitch quantisation setting, the more detuning and vibrato can also be played, making the sound more alive. At the lowest setting, the Theremini reacts like a conventional theremin and the analogue oscillator controls the pitch without assistance. In this way, glissando is also possible.
