Lynx Studio Part for Aurora (n) LM-PRE4 is a four-channel microphone, line and Hi-Z preamp module for Aurora(n) converters. The Aurora(n) A/D conversion is coupled directly to the preamp output, so the module adds four input channels without external gear. See Lynx in our Warsaw showroom.
Four microphones without a separate preamp
A preamp in its own case means an extra cable, an extra clock and another rack space. The LM-PRE4 goes into a slot of the converter: the combo XLR jacks take a microphone or a line, and a TRS jack takes a Hi-Z input. Microphone and Hi-Z gain runs from 5.6 dB or 13.6 dB to 68.6 dB in 1 dB steps, and each channel has independent 48 V phantom power, phase reverse, a high-pass filter and a 13.6 dB pad.
Signal path figures
The design is transformerless, fully differential and current-feedback. Dynamic range is 116 dB on the microphone input at 21.6 dB gain, 119 dB on the line input and 114 dB on Hi-Z (A-weighted, -60 dBFS method). Microphone input noise is -129 dBu EIN at 61.6 dB gain. The module fits Aurora(n) 8, 16 and 24 (24 channel models without LM-DIG only).
