LEWITT MTP 250 DMs is a dynamic moving-coil microphone with a cardioid polar pattern and a recessed on/off switch. The DMs variant differs from the standard MTP 250 DM solely by the addition of that switch – acoustic and electrical specifications are identical across both versions. A stage-focused handheld for vocalists who need a durable, feedback-resistant microphone with a vocal-optimised frequency response and no dependency on phantom power.
Built for Touring Conditions
The MTP 250 DMs uses LEWITT's structure-in-structure housing: a ruthenium-galvanised hardened spring steel mesh and ring on the outside, a zinc die-cast body, and a nylon-reinforced ABS inner frame. This three-layer construction absorbs impacts and vibrations before they reach the capsule. The capsule itself sits on a dual internal rubber suspension that keeps handling noise at a minimum even with dynamic grip changes mid-performance. A spherical integrated wind and pop filter protects the capsule from plosives and moisture without compromising high-frequency clarity.
Frequency Response and Rejection
The response curve is tailored for live vocals: brightened midrange for cut and presence, with a bass roll-off that controls proximity effect at close distances and reduces stand-borne rumble. The cardioid pattern maintains consistent directional behaviour across the full frequency range – rear rejection of –25 dB without pattern collapse at higher frequencies, which directly translates to reliable gain before feedback across different monitor configurations. The on/off switch is recessed into the body to prevent accidental muting mid-performance, with an LED indicator showing active status. The set includes a mic clip and an artificial leather transport pouch.
