Kurzweil KA-S1 White is a portable digital piano in a white finish, built on an 88-key semi-weighted keyboard with six levels of adjustable touch sensitivity. The KORE 1.0 sound library (128 MB) delivers 16 factory voices anchored by optimised samples of a German D grand piano drawn from Kurzweil's pro product line, extended by electric pianos, organs, harpsichord, clavs, strings, guitar and bass. At 9 kg and 127 cm in length, the KA-S1 is compact enough to carry to lessons, rehearsals or small gigs without the logistics of moving a full-size digital piano.

Four-speaker system and USB Audio in a portable form factor

The integrated sound system uses four drivers — two woofers and two tweeters — powered by dual 15 W digital amplifiers, producing a stereo spread that's unusual at this size and weight. A single USB cable registers the KA-S1 in any Mac or Windows DAW as both a class-compliant audio interface and a MIDI controller simultaneously — no drivers, no second device needed. RCA L/R outputs connect to active monitors or a hi-fi system, while the 1/8" stereo input feeds an external audio source directly through the onboard speakers.

Full 88-key range, battery-powered independence

Split, Layer and Duo modes with an adjustable split point cover solo practice and two-player lessons alike — Duo divides the keyboard into two identical octave ranges, removing the need for a second instrument during teaching sessions. The 1-track MIDI recorder and 11-signature metronome complete the core practice toolkit. Power comes from the included DC 12 V / 2 A adaptor or eight alkaline D-cell batteries, so the KA-S1 runs wherever there is no outlet. A sustain pedal, power adaptor and snap-in music rest are all included in the box.
