KETRON SD2 is a compact Orchestral Wizard sound module built around the same sound engine found in the Ketron SD5 keyboard. In a pocket-size housing it holds a voice library in line with Ketron's Best Natural Sound heritage, designed for MIDI applications, studio recording and live work with a master keyboard, MIDI accordion or MIDI guitar.
Natural voices in a small box
Soft synths and cheaper modules often deliver artificial, plastic-sounding solo instruments. The SD2 relies on high-quality samples: a stereo grand piano, saxophones, brass and woodwinds, authentic guitars, organs and accordions. For a musician working with MIDI files this means a real gain in arrangement realism without resorting to heavy software libraries or loading down the computer.
Studio and stage integration
The SD2 handles up to 32 MIDI channels and works with popular sequencers thanks to ready-made sound maps for programs such as Cubase, Logic, Band-in-a-Box and Cakewalk. Distinctive Audio Drum and Percussion loops from Slow, Jazz, Latin, Acoustic, Traditional and Dance styles provide a realistic rhythmic foundation. A built-in DSP with reverb, chorus, delay and distortion lets you refine the sound without external effects, and the compact format suits a mobile laptop-based rig.
