Kali Audio LP-UNF — a pair of ultra-nearfield 4.5-inch studio monitors with a 1-inch tweeter, built for listening from as close as 0.8 m, with USB-C, Bluetooth, TRS, and RCA inputs.

Unlike typical satellite pairs with a passive secondary speaker, both LP-UNF units are bi-amped — 40 W for the HF section and 40 W for LF/MR in each monitor, linked by a dedicated interconnect cable. Frequency response spans 39 Hz - 25 kHz (-10 dB), narrowing to 54 Hz - 21 kHz within ±3 dB, with a max SPL of 103 dB and THD+N under 1%. The tweeter and 3D waveguide come straight from the LP-6 line, which is unusual at this cabinet size.

Full-range monitoring on a tight desk

A standard nearfield pair needs a listening distance of roughly 1-1.5 m for the stereo image to lock in properly — often impossible on a small desk. The LP-UNF is built for arm's-length listening distances while keeping the same 3D waveguide found on the LP-6, so stereo imaging and element placement stay legible even that close. A front-firing port lets you place the monitors near a wall without boomy low-end buildup.

One system for work and for reference listening

An engineer working in a small room often needs to switch between an audio interface and reference playback from a phone or tablet. The LP-UNF covers this with TRS and RCA inputs for interface work, plus USB-C and Bluetooth for direct streaming without a sound card in between. Boundary EQ, set via DIP switches, tunes the low-frequency response for the specific placement — on a desk, on a stand, or near a wall — without needing to measure the room's acoustics.
