Kali Audio IN-8 V2 — a 3-way studio monitor with an 8-inch woofer and a coaxial 4-inch midrange/1-inch tweeter module, second generation with a new amplifier platform, running on 140 W of tri-amplified power.

The IN-8 V2 keeps the coaxial driver geometry from the first generation, but introduces a new Class D amplifier platform that cuts self-noise by 12 dB and adds 3 dB of extra headroom. Three independent channels deliver 60 W to the woofer and 40 W each to the midrange and tweeter, for 140 W total. Frequency response reaches 37 Hz - 25 kHz (-10 dB), with THD staying under 1% from 50-250 Hz and dropping below 0.3% above 400 Hz. The woofer-to-midrange crossover sits at 280 Hz, and midrange-to-tweeter at 2.8 kHz.

Three drivers instead of two overlapping bands

In a typical 2-way monitor, the woofer and tweeter each have to cover a wider range than is optimal for them, raising distortion and limiting headroom. The IN-8 V2 splits the spectrum into three sections: the 8-inch woofer handles only low frequencies, while the profile-optimized 4-inch midrange with the 1-inch dome nested inside it forms a single acoustic point source for the mids and highs. The distance between the woofer and midrange stays well under a quarter wavelength at the crossover frequency, so the whole speaker behaves acoustically as a single source, giving uniform dispersion in a full 360 degrees.

Wall and ceiling mounting without extra adapters

Surround and immersive setups need speakers positioned beyond a standard stand-mounted pair. The IN-8 V2 ships ready for wall or ceiling mounting (marked "Wall/Ceiling Mountable" on the amplifier panel) and works with mounting plates and brackets from the Triad-Orbit system. Boundary EQ, set via rear-panel DIP switches, compensates for common placement scenarios — on a stand near a wall, on a meter bridge vertically or horizontally, on a desk — while LF and HF trim controls (±2 dB) close the gap for the specific room.
