Hammond XK-5 Classic is a single-manual portable Hammond organ in a classic wood-look cabinet, with the MTW I modelled tonewheel engine and a multi-contact keyboard that behaves like a vintage B-3.
The response of a real tonewheel organ
Organists hear the difference when drawbar pitches do not speak in the right order. The XK-5 uses a hybrid multiple key-contact system, one virtual contact per drawbar, so fast glissandos, percussive attacks and key clicks behave like the electro-mechanical original.
Modelled tonewheels, not a loop of samples
The MTW I engine combines sampling and modelling to recreate the exact sound and natural variation of real tonewheel generators, and the 73-key waterfall keyboard is shaped for palm slides and expressive playing.
