A point source instead of a stereo image that shifts
In a conventional two-way cabinet the drivers are separated vertically, so the stereo image changes with head height and listening distance. The 8331A solves this structurally: Minimum Diffraction Coaxial technology places a 19 mm dome inside a 90 mm midrange driver, with two 130 x 65 mm racetrack woofers concealed behind the enclosure surface. The result is a practical point source covering 45 Hz to 37 kHz with plus or minus 1.5 dB accuracy from 58 Hz to 20 kHz, holding the same imaging well off axis.
Calibrating the room rather than fighting its resonances
The GLM 8300-601 kit contains the network adaptor, the 8300A measurement microphone with holder, a 1.8 m USB cable and a quick connection guide. GLM software measures the response at the listening position and automatically corrects frequency response, levels and delays for each monitor, which removes the most common cause of mixes that do not translate: bass build-up from the wall behind the speakers and asymmetric placement. The adaptor connects to the computer over USB and to the monitors over CAT5, forming a control network across the whole system.
