Genelec 8050B White is an active 2-way nearfield monitor with a 205 mm woofer and a 25 mm tweeter in a DCW waveguide. Two Class AB amplifiers (150 W for the woofer and 120 W for the tweeter) give up to 110 dB SPL, and the response reaches down to 32 Hz. The White version has a white enclosure. Power for larger rooms and longer listening distances
The 8050B is a monitor for bigger rooms and farther listening positions, where smaller monitors run out of steam. The response covers 32 Hz to 25 kHz (-6 dB) and the accuracy is +/- 2 dB (38 Hz to 20 kHz). The DCW waveguide and the MDE enclosure reduce diffraction and give a wide sweet spot, so you can move around and still trust what you hear.
Fitting the monitor to the room with switches
This is a classic Genelec monitor without the SAM network, so instead of software calibration you correct the room with the room compensation switches on the rear panel. There is a single analog XLR input. For a desk or a stand Genelec offers, among others, 8000-325B/W table stands and 8000-409 floor stands (sold separately). The Iso-Pod stand is included.
