Focusrite RedNet A16R MkII — a 16-channel analogue interface for Dante networks with an additional AES3 pair, bridging consoles and analogue gear into an audio-over-IP system with full level control from the network side.

Analogue inputs and outputs run through four DB25 connectors wired to the AES59 standard, while an additional XLR pair adds flexibility as an alternate AES3 or DARS input/output. Precision A-D and D-A conversion delivers 119 dB of dynamic range with a flat 20 Hz-20 kHz response (±0.15 dB), holding signal quality steady no matter how many times the unit gets installed and struck over its working life.

Level calibration without touching the analogue gear

Every input and output channel has independent level control available in RedNet Control, so matching gain to a console or amplifier happens remotely from a single point on the network — no trim pots, no physical access to the unit, and no risk of settings drifting between installs. BNC Word Clock lets A16R MkII sync to an external clock or act as grand master for the whole network.

Redundancy and compliance built for fixed installs

Two independent power supplies with locking IEC inlets and automatic failover, plus dual primary/secondary etherCON ports, protect against signal interruption in critical-path installations. AES67 and AES70 compliance, along with SMPTE ST 2110 support via Dante Domain Manager, mean A16R MkII drops into multi-vendor environments without extra conversion gateways, and connectors rated for repeated strike-and-setup hold up to the install cycle typical of touring and fixed systems alike.
