This configuration of the Pulse16 DX is built for installations that need both SMPTE-level compliance and long-range MADI transmission through a Singlemode optical module. The unit works as a central format hub in a studio or broadcast setup, where analog, ADAT, and networked equipment all need free routing without quality loss or distance constraints.
One Converter for Four Formats at Once
The usual headache when bridging gear from different eras is keeping a separate converter for each standard — analog, ADAT, MADI, and network. Pulse16 DX solves this with an internal routing matrix where 16x16 analog channels, 4x4 ADAT ports, a MADI module, and 64x64 Dante channels (Brooklyn II card) are all available simultaneously and can be freely routed to each other in groups of 8 channels. That means a single 1U unit replaces several dedicated format converters in the rack.
Range and Signal Headroom Matched to Broadcast Requirements
A standard Multimode MADI module limits optical transmission to a few hundred meters, which can fall short for building-to-building links or larger broadcast facilities. The field-swappable Singlemode SFP module in this configuration removes that limit, enabling transmission over much longer distances without signal degradation. The +24dBu option raises the maximum analog signal level from the default +20dBu to +24dBu, meeting SMPTE standard requirements and giving extra headroom when working with very hot source signals, adjustable in 1dB steps.
