Electric & Co EC7

Electric & Co EC7 is a tube microphone preamp built for open, hi-fi character rather than another 1970s console clone. Instead of stamping every source with an aggressive color, it prioritizes clarity and versatility across vocals, acoustic instruments, and drums.

When Coloration Gets in the Way

Most tube preamps force their signature onto whatever you feed them. The EC7 takes the opposite approach: 12AY7 and 12BH7 tubes add only a light touch of tube dynamics, while Jensen input and output transformers deliver a sweet top end and a big, controlled low end without the mud common to cheaper designs.

One Channel, Many Sources

Built-in mic and line pads let you safely track everything from quiet acoustic sources to loud guitar cabinets, and the onboard DI input turns the EC7 into a complete direct-recording station for bass and guitar without reaching for a separate DI box.

Hand-built in small batches with components selected individually rather than bought in bulk — this translates into consistent parameters between units, useful when adding a second channel for a stereo pair.
