Crumar BURN is a rotary speaker simulator pedal from Italian keyboard manufacturer Crumar, designed for both keyboardists and guitarists. It succeeds the well-regarded Genuine Soundware (GSi) BURN pedal — this time with a fully front-panel-accessible interface, no software editor or menu navigation required. Every parameter of the Leslie simulation is reachable directly on the unit.
Leslie simulation with microphone depth and advanced modes
The Balance knob sets the level ratio between the horn chamber and the bass rotor — the starting point for shaping the character of the rotation. Distance and Angle parameters model the positioning of virtual microphones relative to the speaker cabinet: Distance moves the mics closer or further for a focused versus diffused effect, while Angle adjusts the spread between capsules and directly controls the width of the stereo image. Speed and Ramp knobs set the Slow/Fast rotation speeds and the acceleration/deceleration time — independently for horn and rotor, reflecting how a real Leslie cabinet behaves, where both chambers respond with different inertia. Memphis mode disconnects the bass motor (drum rotor) at low speeds, producing the characteristic sound associated with Memphis soul organ. Front Stop mode parks the horn in the forward-facing position — a technique used by many organists as subtle modulation instead of full rotation.Flexible integration and live performance connectivity
The mono input with switchable Hi/Lo impedance adapts BURN to a passive guitar or a line-level keyboard output without needing an additional buffer in the chain. Stereo L/R outputs deliver the full spatial simulation to an amplifier or mixing console. The built-in 3.5mm headphone output enables silent practice and monitoring at rehearsals. Cabinet simulation can be disabled when connecting to a real amplifier where speaker coloration is already present. Two footswitches handle bypass and Slow/Fast speed switching. The ONE-CORD system (RJ45/Cat5 connector, not compatible with standard Ethernet) connects BURN to Crumar SORRENTO organs via a single cable carrying both audio and power simultaneously. An optional half-moon switch (HMS-20-BK) or TRS pedal allows remote speed switching from a stand or foot position.KEY FEATURES
