Burl Audio B16-BDA8-NG — an 8-channel NextGen DAC daughter card for the compact B16 Mothership chassis, built on the class-A signal path derived from the B2 Bomber DAC. The same card also fits a B80 chassis.
Digital-to-analog conversion runs through discrete BOPA14 NextGen Analog op-amps, with no integrated circuits or capacitors anywhere in the signal path. It supports sample rates from 44.1kHz to 192kHz at 24-bit resolution, with a dynamic range of 115dB.
Analog character instead of digital sterility
Many engineers working in a small studio know the problem of compact interfaces that measure well on paper but sound flat and fatiguing over long sessions. The BDA8-NG addresses this by fitting the same signal path used in the B80 into one of the two slots in a B16 chassis. Two BDA8-NG cards give sixteen output channels, and Avid delay matching plus switchable DAC filters let you precisely match the card to a Pro Tools system with no extra configuration.
