The OC707 brings condenser technology to a handheld category usually dominated by dynamic designs. The OCC7 capsule, built with lightweight but highly stable industrial ceramic, delivers a 35 Hz–20 kHz frequency range and 10 mV/Pa sensitivity, with a maximum SPL of 150 dB. Open Acoustics technology minimizes the number of contact points between the capsule and the body, letting sound reach it freely from all sides, which removes the resonance and coloration typical of conventional dynamic mic housings.
Off-axis stability as a defense against feedback
Condenser mics on stage have a reputation for being more feedback-prone than dynamics, largely due to inconsistent off-axis response. The OC707 addresses this with a carefully engineered filter fabric on the capsule that gives uniform rear and side rejection across the whole frequency range — in practice, that means more gain before feedback than many competing condensers in this price class.
A high-pass filter as a proximity effect control
Vocalists singing right up against a condenser's grille often fight low-end buildup more pronounced than on a typical dynamic mic. The OC707 has a switchable second-order high-pass filter at 120 Hz, letting proximity effect be corrected right at the mic without engaging EQ at the FOH console — saving time during soundcheck and keeping the vocal consistent regardless of the singer's distance from the mic.
