ATH-R70x is Audio-Technica’s reference open-back model, using acoustically transparent aluminum honeycomb housings and a pure-alloy magnetic circuit with high-efficiency magnets to minimize distortion and extend high-frequency response. Carbon-composite resin in key parts increases structural rigidity for clean transients, while the unique dual-sided locking cable is L/R-independent to maintain correct stereo orientation whichever way it’s attached.
Breathable fabric earpads and the improved 3D Wing Support headband deliver long-session comfort, and the lightweight build makes the R70x well-suited to critical mixing and editorial listening where natural imaging and low coloration are required.
