Audeze MM-100
Open-back Headphones Audeze MM-100 by MANNY MARROQUIN
Audeze MM-100 is designed to make Audeze's reference sound accessible to a broader audience, catering to both professionals and Hi-Fi enthusiasts. The model is a collaborative effort with sound engineer Manny Marroquin (hence the MM in the name). Manny, a 17-time Grammy Award winner, has worked with artists like Whitney Houston, 2Pac, Pink, Rihanna, and Maroon 5. It can be presumed that the headphones will carry the distinctive sound characteristics of their elder siblings in the MM lineup.
Crucially, the Audeze MM-100 incorporates the same technologies as its higher-end counterpart—90mm Uniforce diaphragms, Fazor waveguides, and Fluxor magnets. The impedance remains low (18 ohms), and the sensitivity is slightly lower by 2 dB (98 dB), still allowing for ample volume when connected to any mixing console or audio interface.
The earcup loops are made of aluminum, the grilles are made of magnesium, and the headband is constructed from spring steel. Despite the reduction in weight, the Audeze MM-100 remains one of the lightest models in the Audeze lineup. The swiveling ear cups facilitate easy transportation, and the ear cushions are filled with gel for maximum comfort.
