Audeze LCD-XC Leather — closed-back planar magnetic headphones in the leather earpad and headband version, built around the same drivers as the reference LCD-X. The closed-back design adds acoustic isolation without giving up the resolution Audeze is known for.

106mm planar drivers with an ultra-thin Uniforce diaphragm and Fazor elements guiding sound flow inside the cup deliver low distortion and a wide, coherent soundstage despite the sealed enclosure — a trait rarely found in this category, where internal reflections usually degrade top-end resolution on closed designs. Low 20-ohm impedance and high 100dB/mW sensitivity let the LCD-XC be driven straight from an audio interface's headphone output or a smartphone, though full potential shows with a dedicated amp.

Monitoring in a room without acoustic treatment

An engineer working outside a fully treated room — a home studio, a set, or a desk in an open office — needs headphones that shut out ambient noise without coloring the mix. The LCD-XC's closed design blocks external sound and prevents bleed into a mic during vocal or acoustic instrument tracking, while keeping the neutral tuning familiar from the open-back LCD-X.

Long sessions without listening fatigue

Low harmonic distortion and a suspension headband that distributes weight evenly across the skull reduce fatigue over long mixing or mastering sessions. Leather earpads filled with acoustically selected damping material improve the seal around the ear, translating into more consistent low-end response regardless of head position.
