. The huge variety of functions combined with first-class sound is testament to the many years of experience of the development team. The specially developed 'Polytouch Keybed' is a velocity-sensitive 73-key keyboard with polyphonic aftertouch (MPE). The pitch and modulation wheels have also been ergonomically redesigned. With minimal menu work (paging) in mind, the user interface has been designed so that functions are within reach of a single keystroke. Eight encoders with LED rings and a large OLED sorgen display provide adequate access to all parameters and an optimal overview.

With

the

chord function and the very widely programmable arpeggiator , you have two very powerful creative tools at your fingertips to work on your ideas both on stage and in the studio. Hydrasynth Deluxe comes preloaded with two preset banks of 128 presets each - a total of five banks are available with a total capacity of 640 presets. Additionally, the Deluxe version features multimode and can therefore play two presets (lower/upper part) with eight voices each on different MIDI channels at the same time. As with the original Jupiter 8, the mix between the two sounds can be adjusted directly via a knob.

A minor highlight is the five analogue outputs for CV, Gate, Clock and two definable controllers, making this synth the control centre of a connected modular system! In order for the synth itself to be the beneficiary of control voltages, two CV inputs have been implemented that sample into the high audio range. Out with Gate and in with 'Maths', assign this to Cutoff in the modulation matrix - there are no limits to creativity.

Creating sounds

Three full-fledged oscillators draw their base material from 219 waveforms. Oscillator 1 and 2 are furthermore capable of waveform scanning, where up to eight waveforms can be transformed accordingly. With the help of four 'mutants', the oscillators can be further shaped - in addition to FM, three different types of pulse width modulation (PWM), Hard-Sync and Harmonic-Sweep, there is also Wavestack. With the latter, assertive unison/supersaw sounds can be created using just one oscillator.

A

noise generator and ring modulator complete the repertoire.

FilterWith

two different filters that can be used in parallel or in series, nothing stands in the way of detailed sound shaping on the Hydrasynth. The first filter includes eleven different filter models (including 12/24 dB lowpass, highpass, vocal).

The

second filter is a state variable filter with a 12 dB slope and is continuously variable from Lowpass through Bandpass to Highpass (similar to the SEM filter).

EffectsThe

final link in the signal chain are the four effects blocks that put the final touch on the sound. The first and last effects block contain the same choice of Chorus, Flanger, Rotary, Phaser, Lo-Fi, Tremolo, EQ, and Compressor (with sidechain).

In

between, Delay and Reverb can be activated (five and six variants, respectively).

Utility Shelf
Included

with the Hydrasynth Deluxe is the Utility Shelf, a removable metal piece that extends the free space on the right side of the cabinet by a few centimetres, allowing you to place a laptop or other musical instrument on top of the Hydrasynth Deluxe.

Modulation and ControllerWhat

would a set of oscillators and filters be without modulation! Five looped DAHDSR envelopes and five synchronised LFOs with several waveforms and trigger modes, including a sixth vibrato LFO sorgen provide plenty of movement in the sound. In addition to several fixed modulation connections, almost every parameter on the Hydrasynth Deluxe can be modulated via the modulation matrix, which contains 32 slots.

Absolutely suited to performing and guaranteeing even more fun with the instrument is the 67 cm Ribbon Controller, which can not only be used to modulate other parameters, but also offers a completely different and new method of entering notes in Theremin mode.
