Apollo x16D with UAD Complete — an 18x20 rackmount Thunderbolt audio interface with 16-channel Dante networking, no built-in preamps on the main unit itself, and a UAD-2 HEXA Core processor, bundled with UAD Complete, covering nearly the entire UAD plugin library.

Gen 2 Elite-Class AD/DA conversion with dual-crystal clocking keeps jitter low at every sample rate, and 16 channels of I/O carried over Dante (or AES67 at 48kHz) let you build immersive mixes up to 9.1.6 — Dolby Atmos, Auro-3D, Sony 360 Reality Audio — directly at the network level. Preamps aren't built into the rack unit; they're added through optional networked modules, the Apollo e1x (remote-controllable Unison preamp) and e2m (stereo headphone amp with line I/O), both PoE-powered.

A full plugin library across a live and studio network

UAD Complete covers close to 200 plugins — compressors, EQs, preamps, reverbs, amp simulations, and mastering tools from Neve, API, SSL, Fender, Lexicon, Ampex, Helios, and other partners. For an engineer moving between live shows and studio sessions, that means access to the same complete effects toolkit whether the signal comes from FOH, backstage, or a multi-room studio — without piecing together separate bundles for each scenario.

Scaling the network without giving up low latency

Up to four x16D units can link into a 64-channel system with network redundancy at 96kHz, keeping the latency Dante is known for — well below typical audio-over-IP networks. The HEXA Core processor handles UAD plugins locally on the unit, independent of network or computer load.
