Akai Professional MPX8 is a mobile SD sample player with eight backlit pads that respond to velocity and pressure. You load your own WAV samples from a card, assign them to the pads and play without a computer. Check out the MPX8 in our Warsaw showroom.
Samples from a card, under your fingers
Playing samples from a DAW means a laptop on stage or next to the controller. The MPX8 reads 16-bit mono WAV files directly from an SD or SDHC card up to 32 GB (FAT16 or FAT32, card sold separately) and holds eight internal kits and up to 99 user kits. For every sample you set tuning, reverb, trigger type (1SH, HLD or LP), level, pan and MIDI note number.
Outputs and MIDI
The signal leaves through two 6.35 mm TS jacks, and headphones plug into the 3.5 mm jack. MIDI In and Out on TRS mini jacks with two MIDI DIN adapters, and a USB-MIDI port, let you use the MPX8 as a pad controller or drive it from outside. It is powered over USB and the power adapter is included. MPX8 Sample Kit Editor and Loop Library are available to download.
