Clay is a limited-edition colour variant of the GO Gen 3, which over its predecessor brings 32-bit float on-board recording, upgraded capsules and preamps shared with the flagship Wireless PRO, extended range up to 260m, and locking lavalier connectors — all in the same compact square form factor.
32-Bit Float and GainAssist — No More Ruined Takes
Each of the two TX transmitters features a built-in 32-bit float recorder with 32GB of storage — over 40 hours of backup recording running in parallel with the signal sent to the camera. The 32-bit float format means both clipped and too-quiet recordings can be rescued in post-production without quality loss. Intelligent GainAssist operates in two modes (Auto and Dynamic) or can be switched off for manual gain control across a 30dB range. The Safety Channel records a second track at -10dB as an additional insurance layer for unexpected volume spikes.
The built-in omnidirectional capsules and preamps are the same units found in the Wireless PRO — 50Hz–20kHz frequency response, 72dB SNR, 123.5dB max SPL. Locking 3.5mm TRS connectors on both transmitters prevent accidental disconnection of a plugged-in lavalier during recording.
Universal Compatibility and Direct Connect for iOS
The RX receiver outputs both digitally via USB-C and analogue via 3.5mm TRRS, making the Wireless GO 3 compatible with DSLR and mirrorless cameras, Android and iOS smartphones, and computers as a USB audio interface. The 3.5mm headphone output on the receiver enables on-location audio monitoring. Direct Connect (iOS only) lets transmitters pair directly to a smartphone via Bluetooth through the RØDE Capture app — no receiver required. The system is fully compatible with all RØDE Series IV devices: RØDECaster Pro II, Duo, Video, Wireless PRO, and Interview PRO.
