Ollo Audio X2

Ollo Audio X2 are open-back, over-ear studio headphones for producing and mixing, voiced for a neutral, balanced response before any correction is applied. A 50 mm dynamic driver with a beryllium-coated PET and PU diaphragm sits in American walnut cups, and every pair ships with its own calibration file. They are built to check a mix, not to flatter it.

Mixes that translate to other systems

The real cost of mixing on headphones is decisions made on a coloured response: too little low end because the cans add it, or dull top because a bright driver masks it. The X2 leave the factory with a flat response, and Unit Specific Calibration (USC) corrects the tolerance of your individual pair. Ollo quotes about 1 dB of deviation with USC and about 2 dB without software. The USC file is open, human-readable EQ data: load it into the included AU, VST or AAX plugin on macOS and Windows, into any DAW equaliser, or into hardware DSP. The calibration values are also printed on a measurement sheet in the box.

Long sessions without fatigue

At 383 g without the cable, with a spring steel headband and a replaceable artificial leather strap, the X2 stay comfortable through a long mix. The acoustic foam pads combine perforated artificial leather with velour, and the clamping force is set to hold the target response on a standard head width. The 2 m Y cable with separate mini XLR plugs for left and right is easy to swap, and the parts can be replaced with ordinary tools. As an open-back design they leak sound, so the X2 belong in the control room for mixing and critical listening rather than in front of a microphone.
