LEWITT PURE TUBE – Essential Set is a tube large-diaphragm condenser microphone built around a 1" true condenser capsule and a hand-selected 12AU7/ECC82 tube, offered in a streamlined accessory configuration. The Essential Set includes the microphone, external PSU, 7-pin XLR cable, and a soft transport pouch. Tube Character Without the Noise Floor Penalty
Vintage-style tube microphones typically deliver self-noise from 12 dB(A) upward – audible in the signal chain when heavy compression or dense vocal layering is involved. PURE TUBE addresses this by removing semiconductors and capacitors from the audio path entirely: the tube is the sole active element in the signal chain. The result is 7 dB(A) self-noise – a figure virtually no other tube microphone on the market matches and one that rivals only the quietest solid-state condensers. This makes the PURE TUBE viable where tube mics are normally ruled out: dense vocal stacking, heavily compressed productions, and sessions with quieter or more dynamic vocalists.
A built-in transformer-based filter compensates for proximity effect, managing low-frequency build-up at close working distances without corrective EQ in post. The frequency response is quasi-linear with subtle lift around 3.5 kHz and 10 kHz, reinforcing vocal presence and air naturally. The external PSU operates on both 110 V and 230 V globally and requires a 30-second warm-up after power-on.
Essential Set – What's Included and What's Not
The Essential Set is the right entry point if you already own a compatible large-diameter shockmount and a standard gooseneck pop filter. It ships with a basic mic mount, the PSU, and the 7-pin XLR cable – enough to plug in and record immediately. If you need the fully integrated mounting system with the magnetic pop filter and the hard transport case, the Studio Set is the version to choose.
