LEWITT BEATKIT PRO is a professional 7-piece percussion microphone set for studio recording and stage use. It includes the DTP 640 REX dual-element kick drum microphone, the MTP 440 DM dynamic instrument mic for snare, three DTP 340 TT dynamic mics for toms, and a matched pair of LCT 140 AIR small-diaphragm condensers for overheads – all housed in a mil-spec hard transport case with dedicated foam cutouts for each microphone and its mounted hardware.
Microphones in the Set and Their Roles
The DTP 640 REX is a dual-element kick drum microphone: a moving-coil dynamic capsule captures the beater attack, while a small-diaphragm electret condenser captures the shell resonance and body. Both signals exit independently through a 5-pin XLR and a included Y-splitter cable, allowing separate processing or blending at any ratio. Three switchable sound characteristics and a two-stage PAD (–10/–20 dB) extend its flexibility. The MTP 440 DM is a cardioid dynamic microphone – Kenny Aronoff's declared favourite snare mic – with a lively, punchy character that translates equally well on guitar cabinets. The three DTP 340 TT supercardioid dynamics for toms are compact (94 mm body), include rim-mount clamps, and deliver tight isolation from adjacent drums and cymbals thanks to the narrow pickup pattern. The matched LCT 140 AIR pair comes with switchable AIR/FLAT modes and algorithm-verified capsule matching, ready to deploy as drum overheads or room mics.
