When you say "IGS Audio," you think "Polish pride of analog audio." And rightly so — because IGS Audio is one of those rare brands that proved world-class studio equipment can be built not in London or Los Angeles, but in Katowice.
The company has its roots in 1997, when producer and sound engineer Igor Sobczyk opened his own recording studio — IGS Studio. Sobczyk was no ordinary engineer: he was one of the pioneers of Polish hip-hop, a man who worked with artists such as Tede, Fokus (Paktofonika), and Abra Dab (Kaliber 44). In 2003, he decided to go one step further and founded the IGS Audio brand — because if you want perfect tools, you build them yourself.
The beginnings were classic: precise clones of legendary analog gear — compressors, preamps, equalizers. But Sobczyk quickly stopped copying and started creating. Today, the IGS portfolio consists of fully original designs that compete with the best in the world. Every unit is handmade from the highest-quality components — 1% metal film resistors, Wima capacitors, Carnhill and Sowter transformers — and individually calibrated before shipping.
The true icons of the IGS catalog are their compressors. Tubecore — a tube vari-mu compressor with swappable NOS tubes, designed with mastering in mind — is a device that lets you change the sonic character simply by swapping tubes (6N1P, 6386, 5670). Volfram is a dual-mono FET limiter inspired by the legendary 1176, with its own twist: a pure Class A circuit and an exceptionally musical personality. Add to that the One LA in 500-Series format, the Zen inspired by the Neve console bus compressor, and the multiband MultiCore for mastering engineers — each of these units has its own unique, instantly recognizable voice.
IGS Audio is the choice for those who know that "made in Poland" can mean "the best in the world" — and want a piece of that story in their rack.
